Rackspace, a provider of hosting solutions, announced today that they have added several new HP servers to their lineup.
“We selected the HP ProLiant because of the price for performance advantages it provides,” says Lew Moorman, senior VP of corporate strategy and product development for Rackspace Managed Hosting. “The combination of HP and AMD technology has resulted in a powerful, enterprise-class server that offers high reliability and scalability for our customers’ complex applications.”
The servers all feature the dual-core AMD Opteron 200 Series processors and according to the company, †the HP ProLiant offers management and monitoring tools to offer better service to Rackspace customers.â€

123Reg Offers Free Domain Names
123-Reg, a provider of domain name registration and hosting services in the United Kingdom, announced that they are giving away free domain names, but there is a twist.
According to the company, they will be “giving away a free website address and site building package for every baby born during the World Cup period. The promotion will run between 9th June and 9th July 2006 and gives parents of all new-born babies the opportunity to share photos and stories relating to their latest addition with friends and family.â€
“We’re offering all new parents the chance to register for a domain name for their baby, to host pictures and stories of their development online, so they are able to document all those special moments and share them with friends and family,” comments Mark Beyer, Sales and Marketing Director at 123-reg.
