Australian Web Hosts to Merge

Melbourne IT, a provider of domain name registration services in Australia recently announced that they will be purchasing an Australian hosting company, WebCentral. The merger will join the two largest leaders in the field of domain names and hosting in Australia.

“The proposed acquisition will bring together two of Australia’s leading Web services businesses, generating significant benefits for customers, shareholders and staff of both companies,” says Theo Hnarakis, CEO and managing director of Melbourne IT.

Melbourne IT has recently seen a surge in their value on the Australian Stock Exchange, but WebCentral has been trending downward. Together, the companies will employ over 400 people and bring in an estimated $130 million in revenue.

GearWorx to Provide DotNetNuke for Free

GearWorx, a popular provider of hosting solutions, announced today that they will now begin offering their customers a free installation of DotNetNuke. The CMS, which is designed to work with ASP.NET 1.1/2.0, will be available on all of GearWorx’s NT-based hosting plans.

“The DotNetNuke addition is the part of our commitment to deliver continuous improvement to meet clients’ requirements which are consistently increasing”, says CEO William Gregorian. “We continuously focus to empowering our clients and we are happy to add this new feature to our powerful portfolio of products and services.”

Customers will be able to install DotNetNuke directly from their site control panel and use the application to build company sites, online portals and much more.

ExaBytes Launches Affiliate Program

ExaBytes, a provider of hosting solutions, announced today that they have formed a new affiliate program. New partners can make as much as $20 for every new sale that they bring to the company.

AHPHosting Drops Prices

AHPHosting, a provider of dedicated hosting solutions, announced that they have just lowered the prices on their dedicated hosting plans. The dedicated servers at AHP are run on Windows 2003 and include Virtuozzo Virtual Private Server.

The new pricing means that plans will start at $69 per month and will offer a custom software package, including a choice of SQL server 2000, ColdFusionMX, .NET and PHP.”
