HostDepot offers several different solutions that provide reasonable prices, discounts for bi-annual or yearly purchases, and numerous features. Their NT Corporate Plan is currently priced at $24.95 per month, but this fee drops to $18.71 per month if you purchase twelve or twenty-four months in advance. There is currently no set-up fee for this account, but they do not mention if there is a guarantee, which we always like to see before recommending an annual or bi-annual purchase.

This plan offers 2 gigs of disk space and 400 gigs of monthly data transfer. The disk space is a little low given the monthly price and this host’s competitors, but the bandwidth allotment is very nice for the money. 10 user accounts are allowed, so you could use this plan for a small reseller business, or it would work well if you have more than one site and would like to consolidate them onto one account. If you do plan on streaming media files, you will be limited to 10 gigs a month for this use, which is a downside.

The control panel for this plan is HostDepot’s SiteUtil panel, and a free website builder is included. The merchantwizardâ„¢ shopping cart is offered free of charge and a shared SSL certificate is provided. However, according to their documentation this certificate cannot be used with “Microsoft .NET, Cold Fusion and other third-party components.” You’ll be allowed 4 ODBC DSNS and 1 MSSQL database and 1 MySQL database are provided. Keep in mind that there is a 100 meg limit for either type of database.

400 email accounts come with this plan, and spam and anti-virus protection is available. Up to 4 mailing lists are allowed but unlimited aliases, forwarders and autoresponders are available. HostDepot provides free daily back-ups, but it does not appear that you’ll have the option to schedule these on your own. Technical support is offered via email, live chat and telephone using NetMeeting, so you’ll need to be online to use the phone option.

Overall, while this plan does have some nice features, there are a few curious limitations that kept it from being ranked higher in our directory. If you need more control and less limitations, they do offer dedicated hosting plans that may be more suited to particular hosting needs.
