HostIgnition is currently offering five different hosting plans, covering everything from budget hosting to more powerful solutions. All of their hosting plans feature no set-up fee as well as a price freeze guarantee. Let’s see what their Pro Fire plan has to offer.
Starting at $17.95 a month, this plan features 2 gigs of disk space and 40 gigs of monthly data transfer. There is a 5% discount if you prepay for six months and a 13% discount if you purchase a year’s worth of hosting. However, the month-to-month price is reasonable, and many site owners may appreciate not being locked into a long-term agreement. With a price freeze, you have the added benefit of making sure your hosting costs will not change, even if you do decide to go with the month-to-month plan.
Unlimited email addresses, subdomains and domain pointers are included as well as 20 MySQL databases. Only 100 FTP accounts are included, but this should be more than enough for most sites. Even if you planned on running your reseller business with this, the changes of squeezing more than 100 customers onto this plan are quite small. A control panel is provided, and if you prefer a static IP address, this can be added on for a small additional fee.
Several content management, blogging and discussion board tools are included, as well as support for JSP and Java scriplets. For ecommerce needs, three different shopping carts are included, as well as automatic installation for these scripts, making it very easy to get your cart up and running.
Support is provided through an online ticket system, and HostIgnition claims that all tech support inquiries are answered within 24 hours. This is very slow compared to many company’s reporting a response time of less than half an hour. To their credit, HostIgnition does state that their tickets are answered much quicker, but no solid response time averages are provided.
For the money, this is a plan that would be ideal for small businesses, but larger companies may be a little cramped by the available space. Since the tech support options are limited, this plan would also be more suited to experienced site owners who are used to handling their own site problems.Related Posts:
