Oxyte Hosting currently has three different hosting plans for their shared hosting division. Reseller packages and dedicated servers are also available, but for this review, we’re going to focus on their Economy plan in their shared hosting section. A 30-day money back guarantee is provided, and they will even transfer your existing website to their servers for free, which is always nice to see.
Although this plan is labeled “Economy” it doesn’t seem to indicate that they have skimped on the features. For $9.95 per month, you’ll get 5 gigs of disk space and 100 gigs of monthly data transfer. These limits are great and should help Oxyte stay competitive with the more well-known hosting companies. Unlimited email accounts are provided, but you’ll only be able to host one domain on this account. However, for the price, that really isn’t that big of a downside. If you do need to host more than one domain, the next plan up starts at $12.95 per month and allows three domains.
5 FTP accounts are provided, which is a little low, but given that you can only host one domain, it’s a pretty standard amount. 20 subdomains are allowed however, and support is provided for Perl, PHP and SSI. A free shared SSL certificate comes with this plan, making it a good fit for a small ecommerce site, and if you require a private SSL certificate, this feature is supported. CPanel is provided free of charge and a script library also comes with this plan. Fantastico is provided as well as support for numerous other advanced features.
10 MySQL databases are provided, and while it would have been nice to see an unlimited number, given the price and the fact that this is an entry-level plan, it’s not that surprising. Most sites should be able to stay well within this number. If you need more than ten, once again, the next plan up offers an unlimited amount. Technical support is available 24/7 through their help desk and documentation is also provided.
Oxyte has done a great job with their site, making it easy to find information quickly and offering an area for pre-sale questions. With their money-back guarantee, and their offer to move your site and shave 50% of the first month’s hosting costs if you do transfer your site, this plan is hard to beat.Related Posts:
