For the money, the available 600 megs of disk space and 30 gigs of data transfer aren’t a lot, but they should be sufficient for most sites. There are however unlimited email addresses, and a Microsoft Access database is also included. Unfortunately, no MySQL databases are available with this plan, which is a downside. However, if you need this functionality, it is available in their higher priced plans. 15 FTP accounts are provided, which again, should be enough for most sites, but it would have been nice to see more. A site builder is included as well as the Helm Control Panel for managing your site.

ASP and ASP.NET 1.1 and 2.0 are supported, which is nice to see. Too many NT hosts are not yet offering support for ASP.NET 2.0, so this is a very nice feature. This plan is also DotNetNuke ready, and offers support for Cold Fusion MX. CDONTS, ASPMail, SA SMTPMail are also included as well as support for PERL, SSI and custom error pages. This plan also offers a free shared SSL certificate and a back-up/restore manager, which is a nice feature. If you need your own private SSL certificate, this is available as a $5 per month add-on, which is fantastic. Normally, you would have to pay at least $125 upfront for one of these certificates, so this is an added value.

Support is provided 24/7 via their helpdesk and through their live chat module. In addition, toll-free telephone support is also available. Overall, this is a plan that has some large downsides, such as the price and lack of disk space, but PowerSurge does overcome these deficits with great technical support and the ability to pay for your own SSL certificate on a monthly basis instead of all at once.
