Squiggout sure isn’t a common name, but it is one you’d most likely remember. Their iSquigg plan is priced at just $5.95 per month and offers quite a lot for the money. Let’s take a look at this plan and see what it has to offer. Budget hosting is a competitive business, and it takes quite a bit to stay on top. Does this plan have what it takes? Let’s find out.

You’ll get 2 gigs of disk space and 100 gigs of monthly data transfer, which is extremely generous given the monthly price tag. 9,999 email addresses are included, which is practically unlimited, even for the largest business sites. You will however only have 200 megs of storage for all of your email accounts, so you may want to impose limits on each one to make sure you stay inside the allotment.

This plan comes in Unix or Windows, and the price is the same for either, which is nice to see. You can host an unlimited amount of domains on this plan, but given the email space limitation, if you plan to use this account for a reseller business, you may want to keep it small. You’ll get 100 megs of space for either your MySQL or MSSQL databases, depending on your platform, which is a little low. This could be a problem if you plan to run your site entirely off of a database, which many CMS’ require.

Speaking of CMS’, several scripts are included with this plan, as well as blogs, forums and photo galleries. If you select the Windows platform, you’ll also get CDONTS, CDOSYS, ASPEmail, ASPSecured, ASPImage, ASPUpload, ASPJPEG, JMAIL, and Active Perl absolutely free, which is very nice to see. There don’t seem to be many incentives for Unix customers, beyond the available scripts mentioned above. For databases, beyond the disk space limit, they don’t really specify how many you can have, but it is in the singular, so it may be safe to assume there is only one.

This company offers the SquiggOn guarantee, which states that your site will have 100% uptime or you’ll get your money back, which is always appreciated. There is also a 30-day money-back guarantee. For technical support, Squigg offers toll-free telephone support, online resources and a great deal of documentation in their help center.

This plan is well worth the money and certainly worth a second or even third look.
