VoxDomains made the news recently when they announced that they are now offering support for Ruby on Rails. So, we decided to see what kind of hosting plans they had to offer. For this review, we’ll be taking a look at their shared hosting plan, which is called the Deluxe Plan. Pricing for this plan starts at $8.95 per month for the Unix option, or $9.95 per month for the NT option.
You’ll get 10 gigs of disk space and 500 gigs of monthly data transfer, which is really great for this price range. 1000 email accounts are included, as well as unlimited email forwarders. It would have been nice to see unlimited email addresses, given how standard this has become in the industry, but 1000 should be enough for most users. If you select the Unix based plan, you’ll get 25 MySQL databases, while NT users will get 25 MSSQL databases. This is a pretty good amount and should allow most customers enough room to grow.
Unix plans support PHP, Perl, Ruby on Rails, Ruby CGI, Python and Java, while the NT plans only support ASP and ASP.NET v1.1 or v2.0. Software for blogging, forums and photo galleries are included with each account type and numerous freebies are offered for both OS’s. The NT version offers quite a few ASP components, while the Unix version offers ImageMagick and several CMS scripts for free. A free $25 Google AdWords credit is provided for all new customers, which again, is nice to see.
For technical support, a non toll-free telephone number is provided, or if you prefer, there are numerous support articles in their help center. Tutorials are also offered to walk you through several basic tasks that come with setting up your website.
Overall, this plan is a pretty good value and offers just enough features to stay competitive. In a competitive industry, it’s hard to stay on top, but VoxDomains has done a good job of providing some nice bonuses and incentives, as well as low domain name prices that should interest plenty of customers.Related Posts:
