HostMySite Rolls Out Cheap Linux Plan

HostMySite, a provider of hosting solutions, announced that they have rolled out a new Linux based hosting plan that will be priced at just $2.95 per month.

In addition, the company is debuting, “two new Linux plans featuring Ruby on Rails and the enhancement of their entire Linux hosting plan lineup with PHP 5. The more robust Linux plans feature powerful programming support and are available with ColdFusion or the newly-added Ruby on Rails. The company’s all Linux plans now include PHP 5 support, and customers have the option to toggle between PHP 4 and PHP 5 easily through a Web-based control panel.”

Intermedia Doubles Disk Space on Dedicated Plans

Intermedia, a hosting company specializing in NT based hosting, announced that they have doubled their disk space on one of their dedicated hosting plans. According to the company, new customers for our dedicated plans will now get a server with two 73 GB drives, they will also qualify for a SharePoint account, and get more storage space for email, public folders and other files.

The servers that qualify for this promotion are Microsoft Exchange Servers.

Serguei Sofinski, CEO of Intermedia.NET, said, “We are seeing a clearly growing demand for more disk space, as companies keep greater volumes of email and move more files into an online, hosted environment. In both our Small Business and Enterprise plans, with 1 GB per mailbox, and now our Dedicated Exchange servers, we are meeting these needs.”

Bluehost Reaches Milestone

Bluehost, a web hosting provider, announced that they have reached an important milestone for their company. They just passed the 150,000 mark for registered domains. The company believes that this success is due to the quality of their hosting plans and the overall value their customers receive.

TuCows to Purchase NetIdentity

TuCows, a well known provider of domain name services announced that they plan to acquire NetIdentity. Mailbank is the parent company of NetIdentity, and operates several companies under this name.

According to TuCows, “the deal is worth $18 million in cash, promissory notes and the issue of approximately 3,603,000 shares of common stock to the stockholders of NetIdentity.” TuCows expects a healthy return from their invest and forecasts that it will increase their cash flow by $3 to $4 million each year.

“There is a very natural fit between NetIdentity and Tucows’ retail business,” says Elliot Noss, president and CEO for Tucows. “However, this gives our wholesale offerings, especially our hosted email service, something unique in the marketplace. It took over 10 years for NetIdentity to build this incredible portfolio of surnames. With this acquisition, we will provide our channel with the ability to personalize the services they offer in ways they will not find anywhere else.”
