Verio Adds Domain Tools

Verio, a provider of hosting services, announced that they have added a new suite of domain tools for their customers. According to the company, their new DNR services include a domain name suggestion tool and a backorder service that will assist customers in acquiring domains that may become available in the future.

“Verio’s enhanced domain services are the essential foundation to provide end users with a rich domain registration and hosting experience. We listened to many current customers who wanted a simple way to kick-start their online presence, and these enhancements lower the barriers associated with creating a site and provide a migration path to full service hosting plans,” says Dennis Boyle, chief operating officer for Verio.

The company states that these new tools will be available immediately for all of their customers.

ResellerZoom Offers SWSoft Site Builder

ResellerZoom, a provider of hosting services for resellers, announced today that they are now offering their customers SWSoft’s Site Builder. This site builder is an extremely popular online builder that allows customers to easily create, edit and post their web sites, without any HTML knowledge.

“Our effort is to give our resellers a competitive edge against other providers,” says Kiet Duong, CEO of Reseller Zoom. “SiteBuilder adds on to the number of features resellers can up-sell to their clients.”

Reseller customers of the company can also add-on other tools to improve their hosting packages, including SiteStudio, Miva Merchant and Urchin stats.

GoDaddy Improves Security

As an ongoing part of their service enhancements, GoDaddy, a provider of hosting services announced today that they have improved security for their customers. According to the company, they are now offering the TippingPoint Intrusion Prevention System to block server attacks.

“Security is a top priority at Go Daddy,” says Neil Warner, Go Daddy’s chief information security officer. “TippingPoint systems have an established track record of success. Our customers deserve this extra protection for their hosting accounts.”

According to the company, the new tool will be available on all dedicated and virtual dedicated hosting solutions from the company. GoDaddy states, “The intrusion prevention system is an in-line device that scans traffic and, based on rules, determines whether data packets are legitimate or malicious.”

Peer1 Expands Operations

Peer1, a provider of Internet Infrastructure announced today that they are expanding their data center for their subsidiary company, ServerBeach. The company already has two data centers which were completely full.

“Expanding our operations, delivering improved financial performance and strengthening our senior management team are all part of PEER 1’s plan to create sustainable shareholder value,” said Fabio M. Banducci, PEER 1’s Executive Vice President.

According to the company the “expansion will allow ServerBeach to consolidate all servers and employees into one central location. With more than three times the combined capacity of the existing facilities, the new data center space will provide ample room for future growth.”
