Vortech Hosting offers many different kinds of plans for personal sites, small businesses and resellers. They also have dedicated hosting plans that start at just $69 per month, many of which feature your choice of operating system. For this review, we’re going to take a look at their new Vortech Managed Dedicated H-Sphere Servers, of which only a few are currently available.

This plan has four different options. You can select the AMD 2100 processor plan which offers 512 MB of RAM and a 120GB Drive, with a price of $239 a month, the P4 2.8 gHz HT plan which has 1GB of RAM and an 80GB Drive for $239 per month, the P4 2.66 gHz plan which has 512MB of RAM and a 40GB Drive for just $219 per month, or the AMD 2200 processor plan with 512 MB of RAM and a 40GB Drive for $209 per month. The set-up fees for all of these plans are currently set at $99.

The main advantage for these four plans is that Vortech Hosting offers instant activation for the server and there are currently no contracts to sign. All the servers come with the open source Free BSD operating systam. 100 H-Sphere user licenses are included with any of these plans, and you’ll receive the benefit of a fully managed server at no additional cost. If you are new to running a dedicated server, this is a very nice feature.

Back-ups are scheduled every night and you will not have to pay any additional fees for this service. A remote reboot feature is provided free of charge, which is nice to see. In addition, free 24/7 telephone, email and ticket support options are included with these plans. In the event that you need additional software installed on your server that is not provided by Vortech Hosting, you can ask them for help with the installation. There is no mention in Vortech Hosting’s documentation on any fees, but they do mention that you will be responsible for any third party licensing.

For add-ons, you can select a block of 8 IP addresses for an additional $5 per month. If you need additional bandwidth, it is currently priced at $4 a gig for Premium Bandwidth or $1 a gig for Cogent Bandwidth. Since 1000 gigs of monthly data transfer are included with all four plans, this shouldn’t be a problem for most sites. The H-Sphere control panel is provided free of charge with these plans, so you won’t have to worry about paying an extra fee for this option.

Although their monthly price is a little high when compared to other dedicated hosting plans, having your server completely managed may be worth the extra money. Many hosting companies charge a great deal more per month for managed services, so when all of the features are put together, this is still a solid deal.
